Kyriaki Riala is a PhD researcher in Clinical Psychology at the University of Cyprus and a member of the Developmental Psychopathology Lab (DPLab), under the supervision of Prof. Kostas A. Fanti. Her research interests centre on emotion regulation, anxiety and stress, developmental psychopathology, and the translation of psychological research into evidence-based assessment and intervention. Her current work explores the use of immersive Virtual Reality (VR) and psychophysiological measures, including ECG and electrodermal activity, to study and train emotion regulation. She has also contributed to a 10-year follow-up of Cyprus’s first epidemiological study on child sexual abuse, conducted in collaboration with the Leventis Foundation and the Council “FONI,” examining changes in the prevalence and characteristics of child sexual abuse and emerging forms of technology-facilitated abuse. Her broader research interests include the development and evaluation of innovative approaches to prevention and psychological intervention across childhood, adolescence, and emerging adulthood.
